FLYING AT IT'S BEST 2008 (FAIB 2008)
Flying
At Its Best 2008 will take place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th May, at Rougham
Airfield, to the east of Bury St Edmunds and just off the A14. The show is
even bigger and better than ever! Rougham Airfield is a fantastic setting for
model flying and this year, there are more flyers and traders attending, to make
this something special.
This will be a great day out, not just for modellers, but for all the family. First and foremost, modellers will be able to see the biggest and best models the LMA can offer, including Ali Machinchy's first public showing of his fabulous C-17. However, as always, all genres will be featured, from the budget Green Air Designs, electric depron models to fantastic, 1/3 scale replicas of beautiful aircraft that simply defy the description of "model".
Flying commences at 10.00 and continues through 'til 17.00. The daily programme includes World War I, Vintage and Golden Age, World War II and a variety of Jet aircraft, interspersed with glider, helo and 3D aerobatic models which simply defy normal aerodynamics! There will be some model trade flying slots which will provide model suppliers with the opportunity to show off their latest products and entice us to part with even more of our "dosh!" (as if we needed an excuse!)
In addition to model trade stands, there will be a fun fair (so that the "tiddlers" won't fret) and several craft stalls (so that mums won't fret). In addition, you will be able to eat and drink from the many and varied food stalls which will be open all day. There will also be a marquee with a bar, serving alcoholic beverages and this will be used to provide the evening's entertainment when the flying has finished for the day.
